Blogging advice can vary so much from blogger to blogger, and personally I think thats the beauty of blogging. We all have different thoughts and advice we can share along the way. It’s honestly one of the main reasons why I love the blogging community so much. We all have the same goal, to write and enjoy ourselves and thats why I think it works so well for us in the blogging space.
Blogging advice is something I relied on alot when I first started my blog. I sought inspiration and advice from many bloggers and it really helped to shape me into the blogger I am today.
As a little intro, my name is Olivia and I run olivialucieblake.com – I’d describe my blog as a place to come for different kinds of life advice. Whether you’re having relationship problems and you just want a different perspective. Or, if you want some yummy recipes or inspiration to get fit. I have it all. Blogging became such an importance in my life during the Covid lockdowns. I needed a distraction and something to focus on. Ever since then I just haven’t stopped.
I was so excited when me and Isabella decided to do this guest post collaboration and I really hope you find my advice helpful!
TAKE YOUR TIME
I’ve seen alot of bloggers come and go. And the most important piece of blogging advice I can give to you is to take your time. There is no rush in becoming the biggest and the best writer out there. It took me nearly 3 years to get to the point I’m at today, and even today I still have a long way to go to reach the point I want to get to.
There is no rush to make your website look perfect and professional straight away. I went through 3-4 themes and designs before I settled on what I liked. Taking your time and deciding what you want your site to look like is important yes, but remove the pressure you have on yourself to be the best right away. It will come with time.
SET OUT A SCHEDULE FROM THE BEGINNING
I will always stress to bloggers how important having a blogging schedule is. When I first started blogging I posted almost 7 days a week. I look back and realise how unrealistic that was to maintain but I put alot of my success on the fact I was consistent in posting and active alot. As the world is back to “normal” now, I find myself with less time for blogging but I try to make sure I’m consistent in posting content regularly.
Making sure that you have a good posting schedule is important. Get your name out there and show the world the work that you can create. This will help so much with growth.
Your schedule doesn’t need to be crazy. It could be staying consistent in posting twice a week or even once a month. As long as you’re consistent, it will pay off.
MAINTAIN AND MAKE BLOGGER CONNECTIONS
I cannot stress enough how important it is to make blogging connections if you want to learn and grow your own website. Having blogger friends is something that I never take for granted because I’ve needed to lean on them more than once. Making those connections can help so much and they can even transpire into real life friendships.
Don’t be afraid to reach out to bloggers and ask for advice. 9 times out of 10 they will be more than happy to help you! And if you don’t ask, you don’t get.
What blogging advice can you share with us? What have you learnt from running your own blog?
Thanks so much to Isabella for this collaboration. Feel free to check out my website, and the post she wrote for me!
